How to Compact Outlook Data Files (.PST) Manually - Compact Now



Generally In the Microsoft Outlook, PST files receive daily emails while archive files accumulate all the information in proper way. Therefore you have heard that Outlook data files (.pst) get corrupt due to Oversize database.  So if you think that after deleting unused PST files from Outlook mailbox, you will get space then it’s not possible because removal items store in different folder of MS Outlook.



Apply Compact Now Tool: Microsoft Outlook provides “compact now” tool. With this tool you can compact the Configured Outlook email files and clean up the whites spaces.  Let us find the answer about how to use compact now tool?


1. Open Microsoft Configured email account. 

2. Go to “Tool” menu >> click on “Account setting”.


3. Click on “Data files” >> select listed files >> click on setting button or double click on selected files.

4. Click on “Compact Now” button >> ok

5. Finish.


Method 2:  Follow, another way to compact Outlook PST files.

 1. Open Outlook email files.
 2. Click on File menu>> choose “Data File management”
 3. Select “Data Files” >> double click on files (which you want to compact).
 4. A box will appear on your screen.
 5. Click on “compact now” option (Wait for some time).
6. Click on “OK” button.
7. Finish.
